A couple of weeks ago, I attended a fun and interactive event, which was a creative sushi art workshop, and this was held at Maki San, at The Cathay. It is organised by Foodpanda. Thanks Cecilia for the invite!

Upon entering the premises, I was greeted by the vibrant colors of 3D pop art and humorous illustrated posters.

Maki San is a new grown brand which allows customers to customize their favorite and personalised sushi and salad. The concept is similar to subway whereby you can choose the ingredients you like. Take note that the amount of ingredients chosen will define how much one will be paying!

The chef showed us on how to make the cute panda sushi, and here's the finished product!

After the demonstration, we headed back to our table and a hands-on lesson on how to make the panda sushi rolls. It is not an easy task indeed!

I had a hard time trying to make my sushi, but it was fun at the same time too. Say hello to SAMUEL, who sat beside me during the hands-on workshop, and he made the sushi(s) way better than me LOL!

I took some random welfie(s) together with my blogger friends

The highlight of the event had to be the sushi counter and making Maki Rolls!

At Maki San, they have a machine that dispenses the rice which is laid neatly on the seaweed, and once that is done, it is now ready to add your favorite ingredients! Once completed, roll it up with some finesse and skill, and you will have a perfect roll which is ready to be tucked into!

I picked up Salmon Sashimi, Kani (crab stick), Enokitake (golden mushroom), Ebi Roe and Chicken Floss, which I lastly topped it off with Spicy Mayo.

I love the well-designed packing box! The maki rolls were neatly placed in the box which slide open like a drawer.

Foodpanda is part of the 'Meals that Heal' campaign, and from 1st-31st March 2015. Foodpanda will donate SGD1 for every order placed via their app or website. When ordering food online, simply key in 'MEALSHEAL15' code upon checkout. All proceeds will go to the Children's Cancer Foundation.
