KalimNews, Kalimpong, 22 June 2021: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

11 Dies

Babulal Kanwar, 80 yr old of Pundibari Coochbehar died of Black Fungus today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Chhunu Mangar, 55 yr old of Dumsipara TE Madarihat Alipurduar died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Chandra Bdr Ghatani, 64 yr old of Panitanki Khoribari died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Sabitri Subba, 52 yr old of Kurseong died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Uday Bahadur Khawas, 75 yr old of Dhajia TE Nagarispur Darjeeling died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Amar Kumar Thapa, 66 yr old of New Rangia Atharokhai Matigara died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Nityananda Dey, 72 yr old of Chel Colony Oodlabari Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Kaltu Adhikari, 60 yr old of Subhaspalli Rajgunj Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Pulak Bose, 78 yr old of Babupara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Jharna Adhikari, 67 yr old of Railway Colony Jalpaiguri died today in a nursing home at Kawakhali Siliguri

Kalpana Dey, 75 yr old of Siliguri died today in a nursing home Kawakhali  Siliguri

83 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1135 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 705, Kalimpong- 125, Jalpaiguri- 225, Alipurduar- 80. Of these samples 83 test positive.

90 in SMC:

90 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (58 in Darjeeling and 32 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

157 in Darjeeling district:

157 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 58 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

23 of the Hills (1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 7 in Kurseong Municipality, 6 in Mirik, 4 in Bijanbari, 2 in Sukhiapokhari, 3 in Takdah)

76 of the plains (29 in Matigara, 13 in Naxalbari, 4 in Khoribari, 6 in Phansidewa, 24 in Sukuna) also test positive.

72 patients in NBMCH: (362 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 72 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 60 patients of which 29 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 13 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 11 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 1 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 4 in surgical isolation ward.

Beside this 2 children are also admitted in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH.

In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 12 serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 6 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 6 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in other Isolation ward -1. 

167 Discharged:

167 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
