Out of 1434 tests done 139 test positive, 222 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 24 June 2021: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

5 Dies

Nathuni Giri, 70 yr old of Patherghata Matigara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Mohini Mohan Burman, 67 yr old of Dhulagaon Falakatta Alipurduar died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Govind Narjinary, 69 yr old of West Chengmari Kumargram Alipurduar died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Mohan Lal Dey, 48 yr old of Samarnagar Champasari Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

139 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1434 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 995, Kalimpong- 68, Jalpaiguri- 221, Alipurduar- 150. Of these samples 139 test positive.

56 in SMC:

56 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (37 in Darjeeling and 19 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

130 in Darjeeling district:

130 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 37 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

35 of the Hills (4 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Kurseong Municipality, 2 in Mirik, 8 in Bijanbari, 1 in Sukhiapokhari, 17 in Takdah)

58 of the plains (14 in Matigara, 14 in Naxalbari, 7 in Khoribari, 8 in Phansidewa, 15 in Sukuna) also test positive.

69 patients in NBMCH: (364 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 69 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 61 patients of which 29 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 17 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 6 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 2 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 5 in surgical isolation ward.

Beside this 2 children are also admitted in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH.

In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 8 serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 2 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 6 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in other Isolation ward -1. 

222 Discharged:

222 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
