KalimNews, Kalimpong, 21 June 2021: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

2 Dies

Ananda Sarkar, 54 yr old of Ambari Ghospukur Phansidewa died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Tapan Sikdar, 58 yr old of Baghajatin Colony Pradhan Nagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

101 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

381 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 105, Kalimpong- 48, Jalpaiguri- 108, Alipurduar- 120. Of these samples 101 test positive. 

73 in SMC:

73 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (55 in Darjeeling and 18 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

163 in Darjeeling district:

163 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 55 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

31 of the Hills (4 in Darjeeling Municipality, 2 in Kurseong Municipality, 5 in Mirik, 13 in Bijanbari, 3 in Sukhiapokhari, 4 in Takdah)

77 of the plains (24 in Matigara, 23 in Naxalbari, 7 in Khoribari, 3 in Phansidewa, 20 in Sukuna) also test positive.

76 patients in NBMCH: (362 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 76 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 65 patients of which 30 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 12 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 15 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 1 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 4 in surgical isolation ward.

Beside this 3 children are also admitted in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH.

In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 11 serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 6 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 5 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in other Isolation ward -1. 

265 Discharged:

265 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
